Blogger has changed the way you click images

Yet another unexpected change here to blogger: When you click on an image to enlarge it, you first get a framed, somewhat enlarged image. THEN, if you want to see the full sized image, you have to right click it, select "image" then click that. THEN, when the image comes up with a little + sign on the cursor, you can then click it again, this time (finally) for the full sized screen filling detailed rich image that was the whole point in a 1 MB upload.

All this clicking is making me weary, but it is actually easy to do. Try it on an image here and let me know what you find. Here is a test image.

A simple left click is giving me a fullscreen view on my laptop. Maybe it is different on a 1920x1080 display.

OK that's good. Once again I find this may be a Mac only phenomenon, tried it in Firefox and also Safari and got this same new weird sequence.

Thanks for the report.

Right. That does, but you can also get a larger than fullscreen view if you right click image, then click image, then click on the image again. (if you really need the whole file for some reason, such as to copy and paste it to another site, which you can do if it is linked back)

Try a post with multiple images. For me (Chrome on Mac OS X), that framed image that comes up turns out to be an image browser, with thumbnails of all of that post's images along the bottom.

I don't get the right-click functionality. What I do get is the file name of the image in the lower left area of my window, and when I click on that, the full-size image comes up.

The "+" cursor for enlargement is, I'm pretty sure, a browser feature.

Robert e - thanks for the report on Chrome. I do get the multiple windows along the bottom, but can also right click the image and see "image" select it, and see the file as uploaded, which is large. The only reason I am bothering to discuss this is that I usually put up large image files so people can see details and I thought this feature was getting in the way.

Safari 5.0.3 on my iMac goes straight to a massive version of the image with one click and my mouse pointer changes to a magnifying glass. I have to hit the back button to return to the webpage the image thumbnail was on.
Am I the only one getting this behaviour?

It seems to be all over the place and even changing daily. I suspect blogger is tinkering with it. Today I was back to the old operation (one image click to enlarge it) in Firefox. I was relieved to see that.

I for one wish to hell they'd leave it alone. I've given instructions in older blog entries about how to enlarge the image. Those instructions are now incorrect. Now I have to put new instructions in these later entries. And then it will change again. What a PITA!

I post pics weekly that have always been clickable, which was perfect because they often contain newsprint. Then, a few weeks ago, some were clickable, some weren't. Now none of them are. I made the pics larger but then the sidebar is superimposed over them so it's still difficult to read them. I can't find anything about fixing this.

Now the dashboard is different. Someone is being kept busy but there is no need for it. Stability is speedy. Still, blogger works far better than Wordpress and is more flexible, and has many more wysiwyg features.
